Rodrigo Brunelli Machado

Rodrigo Brunelli Machado joined Ulhôa Canto in 1995 and became a partner in 2011. He graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – PUCSP in 1997, obtained his postgraduate degree in tax law from Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Tributário (IBDT) in 1999 and 2000, and a LL.M. in International tax law from Leiden University, the Netherlands, in 2003. He is a specialist in tax law, with focus on administrative proceedings, consulting and merger & acquisition.

He has sat as member of the São Paulo State Administrative Court on Taxes and Duties (Tribunal de Impostos e Taxas do Estado de São Paulo), between 2004 and 2005. He is a Tax-Law professor at Insper and International Tax-Law Professor at the International Tax Center of the Leiden University. He has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo Chapter (OAB/SP), since 1998, is a founding member of Instituto de Pesquisas Tributárias and director of Associação Brasileira de Direito Financeiro – ABDF. His native language is Portuguese and he is fluent in English.
